FAQ’s & Support
Up to what age can I use the Noonoo Pie Tie?

The Noonoo Pie Tie is a stretchy wrap designed to support you and your baby throughout the first year of life. Most parents find it especially helpful in the early months, when babies crave closeness and comfort. Many continue using the wrap beyond a year, depending on comfort and preference, with most finding it supportive up to around 10kg. As babies grow more mobile, the wrap is often used less frequently, always follow your baby’s cues and your own comfort.

Can I carry my baby facing outward?

We do not recommend outward-facing positions. A baby’s weight is best supported when it rests on the buttocks, with the legs in a gentle squat and the knees higher than the hips. This position supports healthy hip development and maintains the natural curve of the spine. Facing outward places pressure on the crotch and allows the legs to dangle, which does not support optimal physiological development. Your baby’s safety and comfort are always our priority.

Does the Noonoo Pie Tie come in different sizes?

No. The Noonoo Pie Tie is a one-size-fits-all design and comfortably fits most adults. The only difference is how many times you wrap it around your waist, once, twice, or three times — allowing for a secure and personalised fit.

Is my baby too small for the Noonoo Pie Tie?

Not at all. The Noonoo Pie Tie is suitable from birth and is especially wonderful for newborns and even premature babies when used correctly. The soft, supportive fabric makes it ideal for kangaroo care and early bonding.

Can I place my newborn in the Cuddle Hold with legs apart?

Yes. Some parents prefer to keep their newborn’s legs together while they are still curled in a fetal position, while others are comfortable with legs apart in the Cuddle Hold. Both positions are safe. Just ensure your baby’s head, neck, and shoulders are always well supported.

How long can I carry my baby in the Noonoo Pie Tie?

There is no set time limit. You can safely carry your baby for extended periods throughout the day. That said, babies also benefit from tummy time and free movement, so a healthy balance is best.

What is the difference between the Noonoo Pie Tie and a 100% cotton woven wrap?

The Noonoo Pie Tie is made from 95% cotton with a small amount of added stretch. This provides the breathability of natural cotton with added flexibility, making babywearing easier and more forgiving. The gentle stretch allows the wrap to mould around you and your baby without constant readjustment, making it especially suitable for new parents.

What makes the Noonoo Pie Tie fabric special?

Our fabric is not ordinary cotton knit. It stretches in all directions and has excellent elasticity, meaning it supports your baby securely while gently bouncing back into shape. It is slightly denser than typical T-shirt fabric, helping it cling comfortably to both you and your baby. The high cotton content keeps it breathable and natural.

Where are Noonoo Pie Ties made?

All Noonoo Pie Ties are proudly made in South Africa, following fair and ethical work practices and supporting local craftsmanship.

Can I breastfeed in the Noonoo Pie Tie?

Yes. The flexibility of the fabric allows you to reposition your baby for breastfeeding without undoing the wrap, offering comfort and discretion.

My wrap feels like it’s sinking as I walk, am I tying it correctly?

If the wrap isn’t tied firmly enough, your baby may drop lower as you move. You don’t need to leave space for your baby when tying — the fabric will stretch once your baby is placed inside. For heavier babies, position the “X” slightly higher on your back for added support.

Can I use the Noonoo Pie Tie for twins?

Yes. The wrap can be used to carry newborn twins, with one baby in each pouch in the newborn hold. As they grow, they will outgrow this position, but the wrap remains incredibly helpful for carrying one baby while tending to the other.

How do I wash my Noonoo Pie Tie?

Wash in a warm wash (40°C). Tumble dry on low and iron on a low heat setting if needed.
